چکیده

Over the last century, eosinophils have been regarded ambiguously either as ‘friends’ or ‘foes’. Recent developments greatly enhanced our understanding of role and function in health disease. Pathogenic eosinophilic inflammation can lead to severe diseases various organs, such gastrointestinal tract, airways, heart skin. In a 2-day focus workshop German Society for Allergology Clinical Immunology (DGAKI), state art was discussed practical recommendations diagnosis treatment diseases, with particular on new biologics, anti-interleukin 5 5R, were derived.

Minireview: recent developments in the physiology and pathology of the lysophosphatidylinositol-sensitive receptor GPR55.

Emerging data suggest that off-target cannabinoid effects may be mediated via novel seven-transmembrane spanning/G protein-coupled receptors. Due to its cannabinoid sensitivity, the G protein-coupled receptor 55 (GPR55) was recently proposed as a candidate; however, GPR55 is phylogenetically distinct from the traditional cannabinoid receptors, and the conflicting pharmacology, signaling, and fu...

Phytoestrogens: recent developments

Phytoestrogens are polyphenolic non-steroidal plant compounds with estrogen like activity exerted through estrogen receptors. These receptors are distributed in several tissues such as male and female reproductive systems, bones, cardiovascular and central nervous systems. These natural phenolic compounds include isoflavonoids, flavonoids, lignans and stilbenes. Isoflavonoids are the most studi...
